Drop a banger from your list. We don’t do “forced fun.” No commands for guests to report to the dance floor. We may discuss ways to help get the party started organically, like inviting guests to join during the first dance. We stay engaged with the energy of the room, and are never on autopilot. There is usually a natural ebb and flow to the dance floor. If your guests show us that it’s time to sip on whiskey, we will pull back a little on the volume and energy of the music.

Yes - we regularly DJ in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Long Island, Hudson Valley, Catskills, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Boston, and Cape Cod. We also love DJing destination weddings in California, Nashville, Mexico, Canada, Italy, and the United Kingdom. We include travel expenses in your quote so you only have one “all-in” number.

Yes - we provide separate setups for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, ensuring smooth transitions between each part of the event. Even when you hire live musicians for the ceremony, your DJ will typically provide the mic for the officiant.

Yes - we provide sound and microphones for all sections of your event. This is most commonly three separate audio setups. For example, ceremony on the lawn, cocktail hour on the patio, and reception indoors. We arrive two hours before guests to load in, set up, and soundcheck. This is built into your quote and does not count against service time. We provide battery powered options for more remote areas so we do not have to be tethered to a power outlet (ceremony in the woods, for example).

Yes - if the request fits your vibe. If it’s a song or artist on your do-not-play list, or if we feel like it’s a direction you do not want to go, we will politely decline. We do recommend mentioning to some of your friends that you’ve provided an inspo list for the DJ. That helps us avoid turning into a human aux cable.

Your music is customized based on your feedback. We tell YOUR story with music. Our goal is to get to know you, and play the soundtrack to your life at your event. We improvise with songs that fit your vibe, always aiming for the target of “you love this song, but you forgot about it.”

I’ve seen numerous planners on Instagram telling couples to budget $3000 for the DJ, which is the same amount it would cost you to have a sound company set up the equipment we provide. So at that number we’re throwing ourselves in for free. Just know there are levels of skill and experience when it comes to DJing. Think of us as chefs. We don’t have a credentialing system or famous school, but you can think of us as Michelin Star DJs. Our 10,000 hours of experience are logged in the bars and clubs of New York City.

In my experience we are the last vendor to get booked. Which you might want to reconsider if you feel music is the most important part of your event. That said, 6-8 months is usually the sweet spot. Saturdays in May, September, and October are the most popular. If your event falls on one of those dates I would suggest booking at least a year in advance.
