Frequently Asked Questions
How do we book you as our DJ?
You can inquire through my website’s contact form with your event date and venue. From there, we’ll schedule a quick consultation call to talk through your vision, music preferences, and package options.
What’s included in your wedding DJ packages?
Packages typically include consultation and planning, up to 5–6 hours of music, sound and mic setup, and dance lighting. Add-ons like ceremony coverage, extended hours, or custom lighting are also available.
How do you get guests on the dance floor?
It’s all about reading the room — mixing familiar favorites with unexpected gems, building energy through transitions and tempo, and responding to how your crowd reacts in real time. I aim to keep the dance floor packed all night.
Do you travel outside NYC for weddings or events?
Yes — I regularly DJ weddings across Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and New Jersey. Travel outside NYC may include an additional fee for transport and setup.
Can you handle both ceremony and reception music?
Absolutely. I can provide separate setups for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, ensuring smooth transitions between each part of the day with consistent sound and music flow.
Do you provide your own sound and lighting equipment?
Yes — I provide a full professional sound system, microphones for speeches or announcements, and optional uplighting or dance-floor lighting. All equipment is tested, high quality, and scaled for your venue size.
Do you take song requests during the event?
Yes! Guests can submit song requests in real time, and I’ll weave them in when they fit the vibe. I also work with couples or hosts to create a “must play” and “do not play” list before the event.
What kind of music do you play at weddings and events?
We customize every playlist to the couple or client — mixing current hits, throwbacks, and dance floor classics across genres like pop, R&B, disco, funk, hip-hop, indie, and more. Every set is tailored to your crowd and energy.
What does a wedding DJ in NYC typically cost?
A professional wedding DJ in NYC typically costs between $1,500 and $3,000, depending on the event length, setup needs, and experience level. Packages often include sound equipment, lighting, emcee services, and sometimes ceremony or cocktail hour coverage.
How far in advance should we book our wedding DJ?
It’s best to book your wedding DJ 8–12 months in advance, especially for peak months like May through October. Popular DJs in NYC often book up quickly, so early inquiry ensures you get your preferred date and style.
